Thrust Ball Bearings are consisted of a shaft washer, a housing washer and a ball and cage assembly.
Thrust ball bearings consist of two precision washers (rings) and a ball complement spaced by retainer. They can be supplied with or without radius ball grooves in the rings. Thrust ball bearings are used under purely axial loads, and its speed is limited.

Thrust ball bearings are divided into single and double direction types. The former is able to accommodate axial load in single direction, while the latter is able to accommodate it in both directions. Neither is able to application that involve radial load and high speed rotation.Bearings whose housing race back face is spherical (with spherical back face or aligning seat face) are designed with self aligning capability and can accommodate the effects of inaccurate mounting.
