The main function of hub bearing is to bear weight and provide precise guidance for the rotation of the hub. It bears both axial and radial loads and is a very important component. The traditional bearings for automotive wheels are composed of two sets of tapered roller bearings or ball bearings, and the installation, oiling, sealing, and clearance adjustment of the bearings are all carried out on the automotive production line.

This structure makes it difficult, costly, and unreliable to assemble in automobile factories, and during maintenance at repair points, bearings also need to be cleaned, oiled, and adjusted.The hub bearing unit is developed on the basis of standard angular contact ball bearings and tapered roller bearings. It integrates two sets of bearings and has advantages such as good assembly performance, negligible clearance adjustment, light weight, compact structure, large load capacity, the ability to pre load lubricating grease for sealed bearings, omission of external hub seals, and freedom from maintenance. It has been widely used in cars and is gradually expanding its application in heavy-duty vehicles.
